Our little man was a referee for Halloween. I was trying to think of something easy, homemade and mostly re-usable for his costume since I knew he wasn't going to be in it for very long. I'm not that crafty, but I turned to pinterest for some inspiration. I found a couple cute ideas and thought I had settled on one (hopefully, I'll be able to use it later in his life) but then Brody found one of Daddy's old coaching whistles. Greg showed him how to use it and Brody thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. I had a stroke of genius (or so I thought) and said Brody should be a coach, but then Greg suggested a referee. I thought that might be a bit more recognizable and easy to create. Thus, our little Halloween costume came to be. He looked
so cute in the hat, but of course wasn't really interested in wearing that, but that's ok. One of the pictures was from our playgroup Halloween party. By the time we took that picture, Brody was pretty much leaping off the couch because he was hungry, tired and over it. The other pictures were from Halloween. We ate dinner at Granna and Grandad's house and then went trick or treating with Jordan while G&G passed out candy. Brody walked between a quarter of a mile and a half a mile while we trick or treated and he
loved it. The walking part that is. He didn't really love trick or treating. People would hold out the bowl of candy and he would grab a piece in each hand and hold on to it for dear life. He didn't really get the concept of putting it in his pail. So, he wasn't really happy with us when we took the candy out of his hand in order for him to be able to get candy at the next house. We went to sever house and Brody ended up with very little candy. That was a good thing because it meant less for mommy to eat! No, Brody didn't eat any of his candy. Although, I don't know if he would like it anyway. He doesn't seem to be a huge sweets eater (yet anyway). Since Brody was a referee we taught him hold to do "holding" and "false start". His holding was actually pretty darn close to the real deal. The false start was close, but basically looked like he was shaking his first in the air. It was still totally adorable of course!
