Out For As Long As He Was In

It struck me today as I did Little Monkey's weekly photo pic that he's 38 weeks today...which is exactly how long he cooked in his Petri Dish (for a few days) and then my tummy.  Maybe it's not weird to everyone, but it's weird to me to think that he was inside me for as long as he's been in the world!

Here's a few pics from our weekly photo session from today.

Here's our little model looking completely angelic
before the photo shoot starts.

I have about .5 seconds to get a picture like this.

And then Little Monkey starts to look this this...

and this...

and this...

until this happens.

Thankfully, we usually get an OK finished product.

Eight Is Great!

Brody is eight months old.  And while eight is great, we need to get month number 7 on the books.

Brody.  Oh, Brody.  You continue to grow and change and experience life.  With each passing month, I want to pinch your cheeks a little more often, kiss your sweet little head, and pat those precious baby buns because I know you're just going to keep getting bigger.  Month seven was a good month.  I've already posted about some of the highlights...getting visitors, your first Easter, sitting in a high chair like a big boy.  Some of the nitty gritty...your schedule has not changed.  We're still trucking along with the whole food thing.  This month you tried apples, bananas, peas, green beans and avocados.  You like the apples and bananas.  Do NOT like the peas and green beans.  And your verdict is still out on avocados.  You sometimes will eat them like you love them and the very next night will gag on them like it's the worst thing in the world.  You still LOVE sweet potatoes and yes, you can look very orange because of this.  We'll just keep trying food that isn't orange and see how it goes.

Right now you love to play...you will "dig" into your little bin full of toys and pull every single thing out.  It's precious.  You can do this because you are sitting by yourself so well.  You still really like books, but now you like the touch and feel books.  You pat your little hand on just the right part to feel the rough bumpy skin, the soft fur, etc.  You are opinionated though.  Some books you love. Some you hate.  It's quite funny.  I continue to try to get you to like some of the ones you don't like.  You've changed your mind on maybe one or two, but are holding steady on not liking most.

I'm trying to teach you to give a high five, clap and wave.  If I hold my hand up, you hold your little hand up too, so I consider this a high five.  We're working on the other two.  You love patty cake (especially the "roll it") and this little piggy.  You now think peek-a-boo is really funny.  You also think it's really funny if I fist bump with you because I make a silly noise with it.

You really like to Face Time and "talk" on the phone.  When you hear the phone ring or the call noise for Face Time you get a giant smile on your face.  You give your Nana and aunties big smiles which of course they love.

You still love to be outside and will smile really big when you hears the birds chirp.  You really like to hear us to make other animal noises.  Your favorites are the pig's oink and the cat's meow.  I also make a slithering noise for the snake which you seem to enjoy.

Other things you enjoy...being out and about, looking in the mirror, jumping, daddy throwing you up in the air, being naked, bath time, when we blow in your face, and sleeping on your tummy.

Things you don't like...being on your tummy (when you're awake).  You now prefer to sit up or lay on your back.  If we put you on your tummy you usually just roll over (hence still no crawling).  For some reason you don't like to use your little arms to push up.  You can get around pretty good by rolling.  You're not a huge fan of staying still for diaper changes which has caused your germaphobe mother to have a couple minor heart attacks, but thankfully I survived.

Brody Bear, even considering these few things you don't love, you are such a good baby!  One Sunday at church the nursery was pretty full and when we dropped you off one of the nursery workers looked a little over whelmed.  One of the other nursery workers who works in your room every Sunday leaned over to him and said, "Oh you don't have to worry...Brody doesn't cause any problems."  It was so cute the way he said it and yet so true.  You are such a good natured baby and so very sweet.  You are a joy in our lives and we love you so much!

Oh, and I don't think you can see it in any of these pics, but you got your second tooth this month!  You now have your two middle bottom teeth!

Does it get any cuter than baby flip flops?!

I'm loving Baby Bear's spring wardrobe.

Peas.  #babyprobz

Yes, he somehow unbuttoned  his pj's during morning nap time.  This
is one of the last times of him sleeping on his back.  Almost an exclusive
tummy sleeper.

Love being outside and going on walks.

Likes Elmo.  Maybe mommy has let you watch "Elmo's Song" a
few times on you tube.

Love your car keys.

Sweet boy!

And you still love bath time!

A Festive Easter

Easter was a few weeks ago (the last weekend in March), but I haven't gotten around to posting about it until now.  The Wilson clan was able to come for the weekend which made our Easter very festive.  Easter is not all about eggs, however we did have some fun that revolved around this item.  The Wilsons got in late Thursday night.  So the next morning when Brody woke up was the first time he has seen them since they got there.  It was so precious...all four of the Wilson's on the floor in Brody's room and Brody was just staring at them.  If he could talk I imagine he would have said, "This is so not my norm".  At least that's what his face was saying.  It didn't take long though for him to warm up to his Aunt Sarah, Uncle Marc and big girl cousins Maren & Kennedy.  We had a great time dying Easter eggs, hunting Easter eggs, eating out, watching movies, playing games and even doing some shopping.  And on Easter Sunday we all went to church to celebrate our Risen Lord!  A great weekend!  As per usual, the weekend comes and goes so fast and I don't take near as many pictures as I want to or as I should, but here are the ones I did take.  And special thanks to Uncle Marc who took a few on his phone!  Oh, and my favorite quote from the weekend was from Aunt Sarah.  "I just can't get enough of his sweetness" in regards to her Birthday Buddy Little Bear.  Love that Aunt Sarah loves little man.

Love the way he already admires his big cousin.

Torturing him already?

One cool dudette.

The Wilsons literally bring down the house when they visit
Aunt Emily & Uncle Greg.

Thankfully we got one picture of some of our eggs.

Easter egg hunt.

Game face.

Brody sat in a high chair for the first time.  Lasted only
a few minutes, but worth noting.

A lady at church asked Sarah if we were twins.  I made Marc
take this picture to see how much we looked alike.  Sisters, yes.  Twins?
Not so much.

Sweet cousins.  Missing Baby Gray!

My little family on our first Easter Sunday.

Spring Break 2013, Baby!

In my life I've done some pretty fun things during Spring Break but I must say this one (doing a whole lotta nothin') just might be my favorite.  Well, I guess I shouldn't say we did nothing.  We did a whole lot of hanging out as a family...something I've waited for for years.  So yeah, I'd say we did something pretty special.  Brody and I enjoyed Daddy being able to spend the whole week with us!

So we did a whole heck of a lot of this...

Brody did a little more of this...

And a lot more of this...

We also thoroughly enjoyed a bit of this (well, a lot of being outside...a little of the swing)...

But because boys will be boys they did do a teeny tiny bit of this...(TV watching in case you thought they were pondering how to solve the problem of world peace)

And because I am a freak (and while daddy was home) I enjoyed re-organizing Brody's closet with the next size clothes like this...

And the parents also got out for a little date and I got to do this (first margarita in a year and a half!)!

And because he is an amazing husband, Greg helped me do this...

Brody got a package in the mail like this...

And for St. Patrick's Day we got green lemonade from Chick-fil-a and it looked like this...

So yeah, all in all we had a great Spring Break!  Already looking forward to summer when Greg can be home again!
