Our New Adventure

We're now a couple months into our adventure, but it all started back in December...

Wednesday, December 4, 2013
Greg called me from school in the middle of the day and asked me if I wanted to sell our house.  Mind you we had not talked about this AT ALL.  I laughed (literally) into the phone.  He proceeded to tell me that he was talking to a guy at work who was also a real estate agent.  We could apparently get mega bucks for our house because the market is totally crazy.  I continued laughing.  How would we be able to afford anything else in the area we want to live?  Well, we couldn't afford anything currently built, but we could afford to build a new house.  I know, it sounded crazy to me too which is why I continued laughing. Antonio (the real estate guy) had comps that he would email us.  Wait, that really sounds a little too serious.  WAIT A MINUTE...are you really considering this?!?  I stopped laughing at this point.  We talked, looked at comps and talked some more.

Friday & Saturday December 6-7, 2013
We looked in new construction neighborhoods.  They are all very close to our current house and in the area we wanted.

Sunday, December 8, 2013
Yes, this is FOUR days after he called to ASK me if I wanted to sell our house.  Antonio came by to take pictures of our house.

Tuesday, December 10, 2013
Our house was on the market.  YES, this is LESS than ONE week from when he CALLED to ask me if I wanted to sell our house.  My husband does not waste any time.

Tuesday, December 10-Thursday December 19, 2013
We had 10 showings of our house.

Sunday, December 15, 2013
We found a house that we were pretty sure we wanted to buy.

Monday, December 16, 2013
We signed a contingency contract to purchase the house.

Thursday, December 19, 2013
After being on the market for TEN days, our house SOLD!!!

Friday, December 20, 2013
We signed papers.  This happened as we were leaving town to go to Dallas for Christmas.

Wednesday, January 1-Friday, January 10, 2013
We packed...Christmas decorations along with the rest of our house.  We moved our stuff into storage and moved in with my amazing in-laws.

Talk about a whirlwind.  Crazy, I know...we are totally crazy.  So far the most common question is...how is it living with the in-laws?  OR  a blanket statement...I think I would kill myself if I had to do that.  Well, no worries here and I'm not just saying this because they might read it.  Living here so far has been great!  They are more than accommodating and honestly I do feel very at home here (always have).  We brought the bare necessities, but little touches make it feel like a little home away from home.  Brody seemed to make the transition pretty seamlessly and I am pretty sure he's getting used to the extra attention.  I might have a little monster on my hands when we get back to "real life".  I think Brody thought moving was FUN!
