My sweet man is double digits! Sadly, I was not here to celebrate this momentous month marker(more to come on that later) but wow, I can.not. believe we're soooo close to Brody being a full year old. The
little not so little guy gets bigger and bigger all.the.time! Month nine was a good month!
Schedule: Same at 8 months
Food:
- Eating meat (Dr. B said we needed to introduce meat to increase his iron)
- LOVES him some turkey, but not a huge fan of chicken
- Tried cheerios and liked them
- Will eat peas straight up (that is without being pureed)
- Also really likes avocado straight up (again, without being pureed)
- Tried yellow squash (not a huge fan)
- At the end of the month, Brody was totally formula fed. We didn't quite make it to my original goal, but proud that we lasted as long as we did...it was not always easy considering my squirmy little eater!
Clothes:
- Brody is totally in 12 month sizes
- And although it's not really a clothing item, Brody is in size 4 diapers
Developments:
- Brody now takes a bath in the BIG tub & likes it!
- Army crawling/a few real crawls
- Can go from laying down to sitting up on his own
- Pulled himself to a standing position a couple times
- Can sign "milk" & "all done"
- LOVES to clap!

Showing off his flexibility |

Cheesing it up! |
|
Trying to get a cute pic for Granna for Mother's Day of Brody & cousin Jordan...
I ended up with a lot of the following pictures.
|
|
My little GQ model (before all the crying). |
|
Chillin' with Dad |
|
Cool Dude! |
|
Finally...the BIG bathtub! |
|
Working on crawling. |
|
Big boy pajamas! |
|
Brody had dinner with a few of his friends. |
|
Made little shakers out of my Juice Plus bottles... |
|
and he LOVES them! |
|
Brody discovered he likes shopping...if shopping means
looking in the mirrors at the store. |
|
Brody is financially responsible...checking price tags OR... |
|
eating them. It's all the same, right?
|
|
Now that he's mobile, he likes opening and closing doors. |
|
At the grocery store...entertaining himself with my tape measure
while entertaining the people waiting at the deli counter. |
|
He's SO big, he helps me with the laundry. |
|
Up on Dad's shoulders for the first time...can't tell by his face in this picture, but
he liked it! |
|
Right after this was taken, he pulled himself up...unfortunately I didn't
get it! |
|
Daddy dressed me in my basketball shorts, t-shirt and flip flops...
not used to this whole "shoe" thing. |
|
Loves finding new and exciting things to play with...our rack
for drying clothes is a fun one.
|
|
Brody also got his very own cabinet in the kitchen full of fun
things like old plastic containers, a wooden spoon and a pot. Does life
get any better? |
|
Brody had his pediatric ophthalmology appointment. He was so brave! They have to
use very strong drops to dilate babies eyes. The nurse said most babies cry...Brody was a big boy
and didn't cry, but kept blinking really hard like "what's going on?" This is right after the drops.
You can see how red his little eye is. He was SUCH a good boy for the doctor! They even commented
on how good he was. I think he thought it was his own private light show. He was so still and loved following the doctor's
lights around. |
|
My dilated eyes! Brody (as we already knew) has a clogged tear duct. They gave us some drops to use when
his eye is goopy (which go figure has not happened ONE time since visiting the doctor). And no, he didn't do anything at the appointment that should have fixed the problem. We have a follow up appointment
when he turns 1. If his tear duct is still clogged, they will have to manually go in and unclog it. It's a routine procedure, but
they will have to put him under. Hope it doesn't come to this! |
|
Brody sometimes gets super intense and will grip things really tight...like in this picture with a straw. I've known other babies that have done this, but I don't know how normal or not normal it is. Whenever he does it, we call him "Hulk Brody". |
